In April of 2012, Remodel Blog published a post showing how to install the Nest Learning Thermostat. It was accompanied by a video featuring step-by-step instructions on how to identify the polarity of unidentified wires coming from the furnace. This post was quite popular, in part because it showed the installation procedure for when your old thermostat has only two wires. Unfortunately, during the malware issue that briefly plagued this blog last week, the entire Nest description was deleted. Since no back-up of the database was available — yes, a hard-earned lesson! — we have no way to restore it. On the bright side, however, the video is alive and well on YouTube, and we thought it a good idea to post the link once more. Enjoy!
